Caregivers Who Truly Care

Happier Home Care prides itself on having a care team of friendly, engaging, knowledgeable, and experienced experts in home health care in Pasadena and the surrounding communities who share our commitment to helping older adults maintain connections, live independently, and experience happiness every day.

In addition to hiring caregivers who have a passion for helping people, we also go to great lengths to ensure that our team has the skills and background necessary to safely care for your loved ones. Prior to an offer of employment, we check both professional and personal references and conduct a skills assessment. Each potential member of our team has successfully become a Registered Home Care Aide with the state of California. This means that they have passed a comprehensive screening which includes:

We ensure that all of our caregivers in Pasadena and the surrounding communities are registered and background checked through California’s Home Care Aide Registry. This public online registry, created as part of the 2016 California law, establishes the Home Care Services Consumer Protection Act requiring all home care agencies, or “Home Care Organizations” to be licensed with the California Department of Social Services. We are a licensed Home Care Organization (HCO# 194700064) that maintains employer taxes, worker’s compensation insurance, and unemployment insurance for our W2 employees. We take care of the responsibility of being an employer, providing less hassle and responsibility for you!

We know how important it is for our team to feel confident and happy in their caregiving roles, and that’s why after being hired, caregivers attend a mandatory five-hour training and orientation session. To help our team grow professionally and meet the diverse needs of our clients, each caregiver must also attend five hours of skills enhancement and training every year. Establishing a work environment that is supportive and going the extra mile to make the happiness of our staff a priority leads to exceptional client care that is focused on making life meaningful and worthwhile.

To further enhance the safety of both clients and staff, we are proud that more than 90% of our team is vaccinated against COVID-19.

We Care About Compatibility

Because we know that having a new caregiver in the home of a loved one can cause some feelings of uneasiness, our care manager personally introduces each client to his or her caregivers. We also work hard to ensure an ideal client caregiver match, based on what we have learned about your loved one during our in-home consultation – not just about his or her care needs – but about the activities and pastimes that are enjoyed and help make life happy and fulfilling. We use this information to identify a caregiver who shares similar interests to ensure that a bond between the two can quickly develop.

It’s not unusual for our team to say “yes” to making our clients’ dreams come true. For instance, we have taken a bed-bound client to an LA Astronomical Society meeting at Griffith Observatory, an ex-roller derby queen out to watch roller derby, and arranged for a client on hospice to visit the LA Zoo before opening hours so that she could pet and feed her favorite animal, a giraffe.

Whether it’s fun outing, a meaningful conversation, or an enjoyable activity at home, such as doing a puzzle together, planting some flowers to brighten up a patio, or cooking a favorite meal, our experts in home health care in Pasadena and surrounding communities go above and beyond just helping with the activities of daily living. We focus on the LIVING.
